Run RUn RUn! Take a drag or two! RUn RUn RUn RUn RUn... tell ya whatcha do! That song sounds an awful lot like the Doors' Not to Touch the Earth. The song s so raw. Ithink thats why I love the Velvet Underground. THere so raw and just ugly. They arnt afraid to make you want to grab your ears and scream: "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" Or at least thats what i always find myself doing. ps. a really cool Velvet Underground wannabe musician is Mazzy Star. SHe does this song called Sweet Jane that sounds a lot like crimson and clover. Its a beautiful song. I gotta tell ya. Its a song to sung on a hot night under the stars. SMoke a bag of grass and just kind of drift off into the wind.

Sweet Jane is cool. I agree that their wannabe VU. Hope Sandoval has such a stonedout beautiful voice. I saw them at the Keswick near Philly and I was blown away. You should check out Mazzy Star's album "So Tonight That I Might See." They got this song on it "Fade into You" that always makes me feel stoned even when I'm not.

'Venus in Furs' is excellent -- have you read the novel by Leopold von Sacher-Masoch? Personally, I'm really fond of 'Pale Blue Eyes,' especially the live acoustic versions. You can find videos of VU playing at the Factory... I believe Andy Warhol directed them!

Heroin, I like the fact that they were not afraid to broach subjects that most people found taboo. I like Brian Jonestown Massacre for the same reason and also they remind me of VU if John Cale was still around. And of course their music is incredible. And no that song never made me try heroin, I've got more sense than that.

ya VU is my all time best band. their approach to the music as an art form moves me a lot and thats more because, i think, their style of music and lyrics are very much different than any other bands! Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side.. and the color girls say do dodo dodo do do do doo... Oh I love this song. I found Lou reed as a great writer of an international level when I listen to one of the songs that tells the story about Waldo Jeffers and Marsha Bronson in the song The GIFT, I was so amused by the narrative that I became a die hard fan of him. They are really great! my favourite songs of VU are: jesus venus in furs walk on the wild side the gift all tomorrows party I'll be your mirror perfect day pale blue eye
