"I love you" - three wonderful words, full of meaning, full of joy and full of belonging. Or so it used to be! Today, the word "love" is used for everything, which really means it is used for nothing at all, or at least has no meaning at all. We love chocolate, we love someone's hairdo, we love tomato sauce, we love ... you name it. When spoken of a relationship, the words have lost their meaning. How how you "love" someone you have only just met? How can you "love" someone this week, but someone else next week? What is love? Firstly, love is not something that happens suddenly. Love GROWS. Love needs something to grown on. Love has to have a foundation. There can be an immediate attraction. There can be a strong liking. But this kind of immediate "love" can fade. It can die. It can die slowly or very rapidly. There needs to be much, much more before this can be called love. There needs to be mutual respect and a mutual give and take and sharing of ideas, interests, philosophies, personalities and everything that makes up a person. Without mutual respect, this cannot happen. When this becomes love, a couple is ready to share a lifetime together. The words "I love you" should not be bandied around until then.

yeah if i say i love you someone i meant it..infatuation fades when physically he/she change or your likes had changed but love in the other hand is more deep, one word is not just enough. if you say love no matter who or what they are u really love them for no reason at all, you just love them in the deepest truest sense of love!

The only time I have seen the use of "i love you" is in my soap operas! :) Or my other favorite tv shows. Honestly, I don't really believe it... but yes it is tv, so it's fake...but I don't feel it. As far as for me, when I say it...I mean it. I say it to my husband at least once a day. :) As for my son, I say it to him lots of times. :) I want to get them all in before he's old enough to say, "Mom, you're embarassing me!" LOL
