Teading, writting, counting are very important basic skill that a young child should know. When i was young before i got into the elementary school my mother hire a teacher to teach me to read and write at home. Before going to school I have already my basic skills. It is important that a child know the important of education. It is sad that some parents mostly who did not have much education do not also make their children aware of the importance. Some children as old as 5 years old do not know how to write or count. Reading Fairy Tales is also making the child more imaginative. Most child psychologist said that a child should know how to read at grade 3 level. If not he will have learning difficulty for the rest of his life. I think that is True. My sister allowed his son to lived with me. He has learning disability. I did was to hire a personal tutor - to make sure that he have his basic skill in Oral Reading, Silent Reading and Comprehension - I think that help him a lot. Now he can handle his own study - there is no failing grades.
