Do you make or buy birthday cakes?

I like to make them! I find it a great excuse to try out a new recipe - after all, there's going to be lots of people to make the cake! I'm afraid I am not good at decorating. I have a friend who makes the most gorgeous decorated cakes ever, but I'm more interested in the flavour than the look I'm afraid!

I used buy blackforrest or other chocolate cake for celebrate my family birthday. I buy it for had the perfect cake for the important moment.

I do not use cakes, cake cutting ceremony or candle blowing ceremony for birthday. I just ask my wife to prepare home made sweets and it is served. Instead of blowing candles, we light lamps on the auspicious occasion.

I prefer to make them. I like to make them a little healthier and I like to know exactly what's in it. I love decorating cakes. It's so much fun and gives me an artistic and creative outlet.

I used to buy birthday cakes before till I learnt to bake myself. The whole of last year I've baked on every special occasion..birthdays,anniversaries...it was wonderful!:)

Usually I buy birthday cakes. But if the birthday is during the week and having a party on the weekend, then I do bake a cake and do very simple decorations.

well i dont know how to bake a cake so my choice is to buy one and that my kids like on there birthday...to make them extra happy

For birthdays, I like store bought cakes. I love to bake cakes, but I usually just bake them for other occasions and use store bought cakes for birthdays. I just really love the taste of store bought cakes, and especially the icing on them, so it makes it seem more special to me to reserve those for birthdays. :)

easy way and get what u want surely is to buy cake.

I cook and decorated almost all the birthday cakes when one of my family have a birthay... I like to decorated my self. Just when I have no time to prepare all, i've order it.
