Divorce pending then he died

Hi,, all the paperwork was finally submitted and my spouse died before any judgemnt was made on final document. He died Sept 9, 2006. I recieved the Notice of Entry of judgment yesterday Dated Oct 5, 2006 with effective date hand written 8-31-06. What the heck,, He died before judgment date, but after hand written effective (reto) date? I am really confused. If we are officially divorced on 8-31-06 I am not eligable to continue in health insurance from his work. Help.

The law varies from state to state, so be sure to talk to the attorney who handled your divorce. He can tell you what you need to know. For your sake, I hope you can get his insurance from his job. I know how expensive insurance can be. Good luck.
