What about those giant art sales where you can buy a painting for $59.99

There are many businesses that import art from China. You can buy a painting for about $7.00 and up. Landscapes, florals, seascapes and even local scenes. Painted in a factory. Would you by one to put over the mantle or your sofa? Why not purchase an original painting that was created by an artist. I picture a factory setting where poorly paid employees are on an art assembly line. These paintings will never increase in value and are a poor investment. Made in China.

I personally creat artworks that I market on ebay and as such would never buy this type of artwork myself. I would much rather support an actual artist, particularly a local one, even if it cost a bit more, then to buy something manufactured in a factory. My art may not be the best thats ever hit the markets, but at least its original and I pour my heart and soul into it ratehr than just a drone forced into producing mass pieces. Whats your opinion?

I agree with you. With all the 'starving artist's around there are many opportunities to purchase local work, because there is a lot of talent out there. I tried eBay one winter and sold some painting, but I found the problem was that ebayer want to pay as little as possible, so I was essentially giving my work away. I would like to see your work on eBay and I hope you are doing well.
