is it really possible that man will be living with machines? like in the movies? i've been watching mecha animations such as Gundam Wing and people there fight for freedom using a Mecha (also known as a robot). do you think there will come a time that mechanical robots will become a necessity?

with the rate things are going right now, that is not a far out idea. everyone's living large and the general lifestyle is geared towards the fast lane. everyone wants 2 things - efficiency and efectiveness. i think that mechanical robots are the answer to these. personally, i don't mind having mechanical robots around, human relations are getting more complex and straining. in a society where the grey area is sooo huge and everyone's encouraged to "think outside the box" - robots are a good reminder that we have to define the box FIRST.

Not in the near future I guess. They can't do what we do - screw up occasionally in amazing an innovative ways. This is not to say that there isn't a danger in the increasing sophistication and capability of robots. Designed to help us, they could come to coddle us, even baby us, to the point where we become worthless idle slugs. So long as we remain active, robots cannot replace us or live with us. So turn off the computer and go plant a tree today.
