Could we do without a Credit card?

I have a Paypal account. So, i could register here easily. Now, the problem is that i don`t have a credit card. But, i have a Debit card, and i`m in india. Does Paypal support Debit cards in India? I have a Visa-ATM debit card(Not to be mistaken with a Visa card). Thus, i would not have any access to my money in my paypal account, unless i have a credit card, right? Any suggestions are welcome. i`m eager to know...
