It didn't hurt or bleed at all....my tounge was only swollen for a day...my friend on the other hand was crying and couldn't stand the pain she took it out the next day...I think it just depends how much pain a person can endure...If your planning on getting one Goodluck...makesure they don't put it too close to the tip of the tounge because then you'll be hitting your teeth all the time....tell them to put it toward the middle....so then you can't really see it when you talk and it won't hityour teeth!!!

Sillygirlsd's comment was perfect!!! I agree completely. The pain of any piercing really does depend on the pain endurance of the individual person. I have my tongue done and the piercing part didn't hurt in the least but, I have a short tongue and yes I wanted mine more to the middle for the same reasons of not messing with my teeth so they did have to pull my tongue out and a little further than it wanted to go. So it just felt a little stretched for a couple days and then it was fine. Mine never swelled very much at all and I never had any problems with it. I've had mine now for 7-8 yrs. :)

The first time I got mine pierced it didnt hurt at all. That was 7 years ago, then it grew shut when I was in the hospital having a c-section so I got it redone earlier this year. They went through the same hole and had a lot of scar tissue to push through and THAT was painful!

Mine didn't hurt at all, just felt like a bit of pressure. I have had mine done 3 times. Getting the cartledge in your ears done is much, much worse.

I Have Had My Tongue Pierced For Almost 6 Years. And I Love It And Have No Regrets Of Doing It. Considering I Was 14 When It Was Done. Okay Anyway. A Tongue Piercing Does Not Really Hurt All That Much When You Get It Done. It Goes Pretty Fast And You Dont Even Realize What Had Just Happened. Now, In My Opinion, Afterwards Is So Much Harder Than Actually Getting It Pierced. You Usually Have Major Swelling Which Usually Requires You To Eat Soft Food Items Such as Ice Cream, Mash Potatoes,Or Something Of That Nature. Best Of All Is Chipped Ice. It Will Reduce Swelling. Once Your Tongue Is Swelled Up So Bad Its Harder To Open Your Mouth And Talk. But Everyone Is Different. So That Is Just My Opinion Cause I Know People That Didnt Have Near As Much Trouble As I Did. Everyone's Bodies React Different When It Comes To Tattoos Or Piercings. But I Love Having My Tongue Pierced.
