Hello Bigred2431, No, of course they're not entitled to all the rights and priviledges afforded to citizens. They are foreign nationals, who have on ongoing allegiance to another nation. They are not bona fide, and their very presence is a threat to national security, as their allegiance is to other than these United States of America.

YES! If the constitution says so - such as in 42 United States Constitution section 1983, then the Constitution must be upheld! If you seek otherwise, then you must go through the law allowed channel to rectify, and not overrule the Constitution by undermining Constitutional clauses - such as the Patriot Act II seeks to accomplish.

Oh, it is 42 United States Code section 1983. In legal lingo, a code is simply a simplified and specified version of a law.

No way should they have the same rights as an American Citizen....They broke the Law by coming here without papers so they should go back to their country wait the five [5] years to come back and do it the right way... If a G.I. marrys a person from another country they have to go through a lot of paper work before they can get papers to come to this country....Takes sometime two or three years to get it....Why should an Illegal have more rights than anyone that has immigrated the right way..

No, of course not. The Constitution only applies to citizens, and they obviously aren't concerned with that process. They can have them if they come in the way they are supposed to and become a citizen. Why should not citizens that don't pay taxes (but get health care) get the chance to vote or other rights?

MrNiceGuy, everyone in the USA pays taxes in one form or another! There is so much taxation, that it is almost impossible to escape payng taxes in the US, employed or unemployed! For example: If one is employed (from day labor to corporate America), one pays taxes, and then pay more taxes from taxed money through rent or mortgage, light bill, phone bill, gas, water bill, sales tax, gasoline! Therefore, if taxes are received from them, then they - illegals and all - should be entitled to benefits!

No one said they were paying ALL taxes, MrNiceGuy! I am simply telling you that these "illegals" also pay taxes like anyone else in the USA. Therefore, it will be unfair to receive their taxes and refuse them benefits! Got it? And as per "they aren't citizens", if you had taken the time to research the law I mentioned in my response, then you, too, would have seen why your whining about illegals have no rights failed! If you want change, then you, the law-abiding MrNiceGuy and cronies, will have to follow proper legal procedures as required by the Constitution of the United States, not short-cuts - such as Patriot Act II seeks to impose! Got it?

i agree with you and your right they do drain our economy i mean its bad enough that the legals are already over here and taking our jobs and sucking the welfare system dry...there are us citizens that aren't immigrants whether legal or not that need jobs to support their families but every where you turn you see them i don't think its right at all

No I don't think illegal immigrants should have constitutional rights as we do. They should be rounded up and sent back to Mexico. With one exception. If they have been here numerous years, have children and have been law abidding citizens then I think they should be given citizenship once they learn to speak and go through the same system that others have had to go through to become citizens. Now to comment on the previous post. They might be a drain on our economy but it's our own fault. The illegal immigrants are taking jobs that most Americans refuse to work. Crap jobs that might mean we have to work for minimum wage. Everytime I go anywhere I see signs saying 'HELP WANTED' but they can't fill the spot. Why? Because most Americans refuse to work low wage jobs. We're so spoiled that we can't dirty our hands with such menial labor. We are causing the drain ourselves. If we'd get off out butts and take the jobs and take the jobs that are available then the illegal immigrants would have nothing to come to. So we can point fingers but the first place we need to point the finger is at ourselves. Nuff said.

well acctually, most Americans wont work for minimum wage because it is near impossible to live on that if you are married and especially if you have kids so what i mean is that they are putting a damper on a kind of second industrial revolution, if u dont know what the Industrial Revolution is, it is a period in history when wages were increased and working conditions were improved due to numerous strikes and retaliations, but if we hire illegals who will do the work for far under minimum wage without protest it is putting no pressure on corporations to raise workers wages and improve the general welffare of our country, now congress is trying to initialize a plan to raise minimum wage to 7/hour which is a good step in improving the welfare in the country but companies need to putforth more benefits such as lower costs for medicare, thats how they are putting a drain on an economy

i agree with bigred it is hard to support a family on minimum wage the only reason why immigrants do it is because the don't get taxed like we do till yrs later whats right about that?.....and ive been to numerous temp. agency's and they pay pretty low but most of the time if your not an immigrant your not getting the job

As a native American I am saying that European are unlawful citizens,. We the native Americans did not want the Europeans to take our land away and give us the lousiest land that they could. and then take that away if any body could find anything of worth on that "worthless land". So why are you trying to treat the immigrants any different than other immigrants that came before you? and the United States government is doing the same ting now in Iraq and other places that we are engaged in war. We )the United States government ) is trying to steal oil from these other counties (or the money that it produces. We are over there trying to take over their government . The immigrants that are coming into the United States of America are just trying to help keep their families alive and giving them better chance of succeeding. If they have not been n trouble and have been living here for a certain number of years then let them go through customs and get their citizenship so that they can pay taxes like everybody else and then they can share in the benefits like every other taxpayer.

I most definitely DO NOT think they should be granted ANY rights! They break the laws of this country coming in illegally, anyway. I would also bet that most of the immigrants can't even read the Constitution, since it is in Englsh. If you can't read it, you don't qualify for the rights it guarantees.

I know that you dont agree with me but think about it. Our country was built to welcome them with open arms. The statue of liberty says bring your tired hungry and weak, this include immagrants to say that they shouldnt is going against what america was built on. I do agree taht it may hurt our economy to an extant. But we shouldnt go back on what our founding fathers believed in espessily if we go for the consitution. We were immagrants at one moment in time so what i gives us the right to tell them they cant go over here if we were in the same boat in the past?
