I have heard soooo much about people trying to consciously getting into relationships with people only of the same religion..or even marrying people from their own religious community only.do you think religion affects relationships..directly or indirectly?have you had any such experiences or known people around you who have..there are many..what's it like?

Yes it does matter. For example, I know a couple of different religion who got married. Everything was fine between the two until they bore a child. Their big problem is what religion they would confer to their offspring which brought about an unsolvable problem between them. So I suggest that when it comes to marriage, a party should concede and follow only one religion. That's what I think

i just feel that religion is avery personal issue and that once the child is old enuf..he/she can choose his/her own religion. till then i think its' wise to have the child live in an extremely secular enviroment following practices of both religions.

Religion affects relationship in some way. But if you respect each other religions, you won't have a problem about it. I know a couple who's in different religion, they just respect each others beliefs. And let their children choose where to get in. They have 4 children, 2 of them goes to their mom and the other half to their dad. They just don't talk about religion at all when they are all together. I can say that it didn't affect their relationship coz they been together for over 2 decades already.

Actually when u are in relationship, u have to adjust to a lot of things which ur partner likes and maybe u dont value much and religion may be one of those. So yes religion does affect relationships as it gives u another issue u will have to adjust with. But when u are in love, u never mind these adjustments and instead learn to enjoy these differences as adventure.

religion lies in your heart. No one has the right to manipulate withyour religion. If you keep religion and relationships in thier correct palce then you will not overlap them. Th eidea is to realize the correct priority of things and put them in the right place.

I don't think so... because my parents have different religion (Moslem and Christian), and no real big problems until now.

it's so great to hear that..but has there ever been much ado in your extended family about your parents' relationship..and what about yours? but i am really happy to see atleast for once a truly secular family!!
