There seemed to be so many lessons in this one story adapted for the movie. Race relations, respecting our fellow human beings, integrity, abuse, etc. I could watch this movie again and again. Harper Lee was able to capture the wonder and innnocence of a young southern girl who is being thrust into the realities of a not-so-nice world, whether she was ready to be there or not. The scene that struck me most was when Boo Radley is found behind the the bedroom door, and how Atticus makes it a pleasant experience for Scout by just introducing him using his real name.

For me there were two... One where the mob turns back from the jailhouse because of the children's insistence, and the other at the end, as you described. To me this is one of the best movies ever made: entertaing and insightful, with the lessons there for the observation without being forced upon the audience.

You're right, there are many valuable lessons in this story which is what makes it such a classic tale. For me, the most memorable scene was Atticus's speech to the jury at the end of the trial -- both for what he says and for the incredible performance by Gregory Peck. Talk about nailing a character -- he was perfect.

The most memorable scene for me is when Scout reminds his father that it's a sin to kill a mockingbird near the end of the movie.

My favorite scene is when Scout and her brother go down to the jailhouse where their father is guarding the accused. And while he's telling them to go on home, a group of men end up at the jail to take out Tom Robinson and lynch him, but Atticus stands firm. That little girl Scout recognizes one of the fathers and talks to him real nice, and only because of the innocent thing the little girl did, did those men leave that jail.

I like the seen when Boo appeared in the room. I love this movie, and moved me so much! I learned so many things from it. I'm glad our teacher introduced it to us.
