Do mutts make the cutest dogs?

Black Dahlia - Dahlia was abused horribly and then abandoned in the Southern California desert in December of 2004. She was found in February, 2005 while digging through trashcans, and we adopted her. Isn't she beautiful?

I think so, at any rate. Mutts are generally friendly, adorable, and lack the genetic problems of the inbred "Pedigree" dogs. I honestly don't see why people would dish out hundreds of dollars on a purebred, when they could go to the pound and find a dog for just the adoption/license fee who needs the love even more. Save a life. Adopt.

As you can see from my photo, the black and white is a mutt. She is 16 years old and is the sweetest dog I have ever had. The other is a standard pom. It really is a pom, not a mutt, a lot of people think because of his size that he is a mutt too. But no he is a pom. He is two years old, and very sweet. I haven't met a mutt I don't like. Usually they have very sweet dispostions.

They totally do. All of the dogs we have ever owned have been rescues, and they were all mutts...except for one purebred German Shepherd. She was such a Prima Donna! Abused our other female at the time, and always made SURE she was the alpha, even among the humans. She ended up having such bad hip displasia that her back legs stopped working entirely, and we had to put her to sleep. She was in so much pain that it would have been inhumane to let her live.

I have a purebred black lab, myself, but I think that mutts are adorable. It's like you get the best of both breeds in one! Though I didn't pay hundreds (or even tens) for my dog, so I suppose that was good enough.

you're right, buying a pure breed seems at best, silly. Though my family hasn't always been smart about this...

I love our mutt! We are her 4th owners and one of our roomates just couldn't keep her (He was moving to Korea). She is like a daughter to us. I think mutts have the best personalities!

I though the same thing about mutts. Just read my discussion under mutts and you'll see what I mean. I thought they were supposed to be without the flaws of purebreds. But, honestly, I feel my mutt is just not all that well put together. Like she got the bad end of the german shepherd/wire haried terrier mix.

My dog is a Hound mix. Though we don't know what types of hound are in the mix. We adopted him from North Shore Animal League. I believe Mutts are far too adorible to pass up. I find they are more attractive then some pure breeds.
