Would you do anything for your family?

My husband thinks that I am strange because I told him that I would do anything to help my sister and her husband have a baby, if that means being a surrogate or donating my eggs. He is technically an only child and has a lot of trouble understanding the close relationship of my siblings and I. I am also close to my parents and we are all the type who drop everything to help one another. My hubby also doesn't understand this. Am I being too close to them, or are you the same?

I'd do the same for my sister or my brother and his wife. I think those of us with siblings can understand more as to why we'd be willing to help the others out. We may not always like them but they are still our brother or sister and we'd do what we can to help them. I know if I was in trouble my brothers or sister would help me and have in fact. I don't think you are too close to them unless you are putting them ahead of your new families needs. If helping them out means abandoning your husband then it might be a too close of a releationship.

Thanks for responding! I don't think that anything I've done has gotten in the way of my own family's needs - luckily!!! I love my family and it sounds like you love yours:)
