Things to do with little one, when you also have older children

Looking for some suggestions on fun things to do with my children my youngest is 3 1/2, and not always easy to take her along with the older children. Older children are 16 year old daughter and 12 year old son. Looking for suggestions that everyone can have a good time at. We did a gold panning outing in July of 2005.

Having a picnic is cool. You can also let the kids unwind,have fun,and splash in the pool by having a pool outing. I know they have a very wide age gap but I think youre older children would be happy to carry your youngest on these occasions.

Take the family ice skating, my son started at 3 1/2. Everyone can progress at their own speed and have fun and get exercise.
A lesson or 2 would help.
Make sure everyone wears their bike helmets just to be safe.

I think that the best and possibly the most stress free way to get along while on a trip is too maybe all take turns with the younger child. This way no one will get grouchy as you will all have your break and do your part in keeping the toddler interested!!

Thank you for your response. Most trips that is exactly what goes on. She always wants to be off with the bigger ones and the hard part is us (her parents) trying to give the older kids the break they need. LOL Good luck here at mylot!

Gold panning was fun, and I think that em is getting old enough to take to the lake :) With her ring of course. And going to old sac on the light rail is fun, but i like everything that we do with you mom!!
