Homebased business depends on you. I work full time from my home for a great company. There is one thing you have to decide on - whether you want a job or an opportunity. A job online will not ask you for any fees, you are guaranteed to make money just as if you were working outside the home. You have to treat it like one too. An opportunity is something you invest money in and aren't guaranteed a penny in return. I saw all the infocomerials on tv, many online business promising me the world on the internet and that is when I said Enough! Do I want to make their living or mine! So I said I do not want Opportunity I want a JOB and I searched the internet sent my resume to several companies and never sent one penny but my life in the last few years has finally been at home making serious money for me. I didn't get rich overnight but every two weeks just like a regular job outside the home I get my paycheck in the mail. I am an independent contractor for three companies. I think I work way more than I would if I had just one job outside the home, would I give it all up and go back....Not a Chance!

Home business works, depending on what you get yourself into. You can be just as successful as the next person, depends on what you find that is for you, motivation, and willing to invest time and effort. They can be quite fun as you work in a team and you get a lot of help and support. Good luck and hope you find what you are looking for. I am sure you could make it really work if you had a great idea. It has to be something the public would have a need for. I love the point mcc371 brought up about the differences in an opportunity and a job. It's great to hear there are people making a decent living on the internet.
