Maganets are good for many reasons. you can water hunt with them, you can use them to locate lost treasure burried deep withing old homesteads. Long time ago, many people didn't trust bands, thereforethey hid treasures. Sometimes they hid their treasure in their walls and long forgot about them. This is where a maganet comes in handy. Most times they would put valuables, money, etc, in metal boxes, and hide them in the walls. You can walk along the walls of the place if stable enough and the maganet will automatically drwo towards the wall, indicating there is metal there. Some remarkable finds have been made this way! I do warn you, some of these delapitating house may not be safe, use caution, it's not worth getting hurt! and don't go digging in walls where the roof is going already caving in on you, it can kill you, or at least hurt you really bad. krissy

I i think that this topic is funny and stupid. Who puts relics in metal boxes. Obviously you do not know what you are talking about. First you say you are looking for people's tresures which they hidden in walls then u say that they are looking for relics with magnets. This is so dillusional, or is it just me.

how could bombs be in the walls? Well unless some old crazy coot was to hide them there before you bought the home. much less likely to happen to older homesteads, people weren't just that self detructive to be hiding bombs in their walls back then. krissy

be careful digging into the homes with electricity...you can electrocute yourself. Do this on homesteads out in the woods. Some that are more than 100 years ago, before electric. krissy

Have heard many stories about this kind of thing. Do so appreciate you sharing this here with all of us. The cautions you share also have high value! Also we need to remember some value you might find will not be magnetic. Old posters and bank notes etc. Thanks again for sharing!

I have heard of using a magnet as well for finding lost treasure. It is a good idea but if you have the money I think a metal detector works better as you can find stuff that is not magnetic like gold that may not be in a metal container. A magnet is a good inexpensive way if you do not have a metal detector though.

these are not submerged homes..like in rural towns way out in the middle of nowhere, lmao, sits old homes that were abandoned. in north carolina they are everywhere, if you can get premission to search them, then you are in luck. Alot of people don't care, but ask before you enter their property if it's got no trespasing signs, you wouldn't want one of those old crazy coots to shoot at you, rotflmao! krissy

Oh yes I have seen what magnets can do and they are really great to find many different things. Thank you for the warnings but the people searching for treasures must also be careful no matter where they are.

you are right...maybe good for the professional, but most people can't afford that. krissy

That is kind of an overkill, isn't it? What hobbyist would be able to afford remote sensing radar and ground penetrating radar, let alone an airplane to fly it in, and locate lost coins? Whose budget are you spending? Surely not your own.
