How do you use your "Bad Days" time?

In living with Degenerative disk disease, I sometimes have bad pain days. I can't do many physical activities when I'm hurting badly, so I try to exercise my mind instead. What do you do when a painful condition is keeping you down?

i too, have degenerative disk disease, as well as dengerative spondylolisthesis. i can certainly relate to your delimma and especially your good & bad days, of suffering in pain. i was taking extremely high doses of pain medication but decided to stop them after 14 months because of the high chances of becoming addicted. this has not helped me in the long run with my pain issues but, which is the lesser of two evils ? but because of being limited physically, i needed something to keep me occupied so i have just begun to do crafting. not that i am at all good at it but, it does kill a lot of time and keeps my mind busy, for the most part. the hardest thing for me was finding something i'd be interested in doing and what to do with the things i have made ! and although this seems to be helping with all the free time i used to have, of sitting or laying around on those bad days, doing nothing...i still find it hard to cope with the pain on those really bad days. so i'm not sure of anything can help on those bad days. but, maybe finding some sort of crafting or scrap booking etc to take your mind off of things, might help you as well. good luck and stay well
