I've done well losing weight and maintaining my loss on Atkins. I know a lot of folks don't believe that the program is healthy, so I want to do what I can here to dispel those myths about the low-carb lifestyle. I eat salads, veggies, fruit, dairy, and nuts in addition to protein choices like meat and eggs. I've lost 17 pounds and have about 6 more to go. I certainly don't advocate existing on bacon and steak. I've purposely slowed my weight loss in order to build a food program which includes lots of healthful choices. So how's your program going? What's on your mind about Atkins myths and misunderstandings? How can we all work together to help folks understand that Atkins done CORRECTLY is a wonderfully healthy lifestyle?

I lost 40 pounds in almost a year. But I really did not follow the atkins. My problem before was I eat rice too much. Here in the Philippines, rice is our main food. We don't eat a meal if we are not eating rice. Since I started my diet, I decided to reduce my rice in-take but keep the other food the same. Gradually, I was able to avoid rice with my meals specially at night times. Of course I see to eat that I excercise once in a while. I developed some muscles in my body because I read somewhere that muscle metabolize food faster. I guess it worked.
