Can you sleep in a sitting posture?

I wonder if someone can sleep in a sitting position..I know it's not comfortable to sleep in that way but my brother used to sleep in sitting position..I have no idea about that and it is funny sometimes!!Whenever he sitting in the couch watching tv,he fall asleep there but not lying down but in a sitting posture with the head turn down..ha ha..My mom notice him for several time sleeping that way and she will give him a tap on his shoulder..that makes him awake with a big freak and imediately stood up.. and i always laugh at him..This is really funny for me.!!! I wonder how many of you will sleep in siting position.

Yes i can if I am really really sleepy.I might get a stiff neck.My grandson sleeps that way to,when he is really tired. He does this after a hard day at school. He does this when hes watching tv I usually go and lay him over.

I think that I would have to be really tired to sleep sitting up. Sometimes I do sleep while the tv is on, but i nearly always sleep on my left side.

No I cant do that. But I too know people who do that. I too laugh at them I think they look so funny and sometimes they will snore. And that makes it even funnier.

Not usually, but I do have Lay-Z-Boy chairs and they recline into an almost horizontal position. I can fall asleep in them, but technically that isn't a sitting position. It sure is comfortable though.

Am not sure about it, but yes, if the chair does recline, I do tend to doze off.... have definitely dozed off sleeping while travelling in a bus....
but otherwise, no way.... i'm too much in love with comfort sleeping to sleep in such a manner.. can't do that for long.. max 5 min!!

i sleep in a sitting posture, when i am very tired or haven't slept well due to work.
