When do you find time for yourself between work/family/chores?

I seem to have a hard time finding time for myself - I hop on mylot during commercials or inbetween chores, etc, but I need more time to paint, write, etc. Between working 40 hours a week, normal mommy chores, family time, housework, shopping, etc I find I have little time for "just me" ~ and when I do have time I'm usually too tired! lol How do you all deal with this? Any ideas?

Hey we are in the same boat. I am doing last semester of software programming course, then tying to earn onlne and cookinfg cleaning, raising two kids, one seven month and another seven year old and its hard, nbelieve me I don't know where my day goes. I post a lot in the night when everyone sleeps. For me taht also is the time whem i do my ersonal grooming. Brush my hair, clean my feet and sometimes even do a facial for myself. I love it when I hjaev the house for myself totally after the day is over. I simply miss out watching myself in mirror sometimes for the whole day. I also do get tired a lot. I wish I could sleep one whole day without any potty cleaning, diaper changing or somemeone calling mommy do you know, but its what I dhad wanted all along in the past so I am waiting for my kids to grow up then may be I will be free. But are we ever free after becoingh parents once?

lol I catch the time when I can which is rare -- sometimes just going to the grocery store or shopping is my "alone time" during the week. Good luck in your schooling - it must be hard to attend school and do all the other chores that come with being a parent.

I know just how you feel. The only time I have any time for myself is to stay up after everyone else goes to bed. Then I can relax and do whatever, but then I have to deal with less sleep and that is rough too.. I do it a few times a week though, because I do believe everyone needs a little bit of alone time.

I used to be able to do that, but my boys are 11 and 13 and we seem to go to bed at the same time anymore. I am usually in bed by 9:30. I have to get up at 4:30 a.m. for work. ugh

I do things like you do during commercials or inbetween a load of wash or vaccuming. I somehow am able to get on here everyday. But like right now Im so tired I think I will be getting off for the night.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've been babysitting a few days this week, as well as watching and caring for my own boys, so I've had even less time. I've been trying to get online to do MyLot and Epinions but I find that I just can't find the time much anymore. I usually try to find time while the boys are sleeping, if I can. Other than that, I just try to do alternating things on alternating days that way I can spend some time each week on everything I want or need to do. I wish I could spend more time, but there are only so many hours in a day.

The short answer is that I don't. I get quiet time due to the nature of my work, so that helps. But time at home when no one expects anything of me and I don't have anything to do? Never happens.

I get my time after Kelsey goes to bed. If I'm off that night, then it starts as soon as she's in bed. If I worked.. it starts when I get home after 9. I don't have a lot of time to myself.. but I get what I can. I work, go to school, have a bulldozer for a 2 year old, a messy boyfriend, and a cat who can't clean! So I'm always on my feet doing something.. and of course.. errands.. they are never done!
