I know someone who thinks they are allergic to their own sweat. If they sweat they break out in a rash. They have tried all kinds of creams, powders and beydryl pills. Nothing has helps. He went to the dr. and used what they give him but it didn't work. Does anyone have any thoughts or experiance on this?

'Cholinergic Urticaria' is a condition that causes hives caused by being over stressed, sweating, overheating. Could this be it? http://dermatology.about.com/cs/hives/a/cholurt.htm I hope this link works for some info for you. I hope this helps you and your friend.

I think I will suggest to lower salt and caffeine intake. Both are contributors to sweating. The rash may be heat rash. I would bet that powders and creams may irritate by clogging the pores and not allowing "free" sweating. This is only my opinion.

I would tell him to use medicated gold bond powder it might work or even diaper rash medicine. I think it may be due to over sweating and staying damp to long my mom has this problem sometimes. A good powder with a menthol in it will help the sweating. Or it could be due to having to much acidity in his system I have had that problem . Sometimes doctors don't know what they are doing sometimes they just make guesses in the dark about stuff. I hope it gets cleared up soon cause that can get worse as time goes by. It could also be a touch of yeastinfection from sweating to .

I'm not expert, but I would have to think that anything your body produces is completely innocuous to you. If a person sweats a lot maybe the problem would just be irritation from constant moisture. This would explain why benadryl doesn't help. I would keep trying with a good anti-perspirant and/or baby/after shower body powder and see if it improves when the area is kept dry as much as possible.

a friend said some weeks ago, he got it. he was going to a alternative practitioner and this man said that would be a psychological problem. he told him to go for yoga or qigong. he does qigong during 4 weeks he said, he was getting quietly psycho. just a free head! of course he has done many things for his balanced nutrition. but in his expierences it is just the head. that´s all about my thoughts in that.
