How about the illegal communities in orkut????

this is one of the main reason that i switched from orkut to mylot. There are lot of these communities present and you don't have any productive stuffs left in it. I don't know why orkut have stringent rules and guidelines to ban a community or a profile ?? I haven't seen any profile or community getting banned !! Do they actually do it is a big question i have. But i don't know about mylot. Is there any information or criteria for banning a profile or a group here ??

yes,i've too heard about that community which says we hate india or something like that...but if u really find something like that or anything which u think is abusive,do send a mesg to all ur frnds in orkut n tell them to pass on the mesg to their frnds n so on and ask them to report it as abuse which an option specified in that community and if 1000 such reports are delivered they wud remove that particular community,i had done that....

Hey it is disturbing when you see something like that... There are many communities on Orkut like this... Well it is upto us to make Orkut a beautiful place.. We shouldnt get involved in communities like that, we should report these communities so that they shut down.. There are so many communities on Orkut that they cannot keep a ceck of whats happening in each and every community... What you sould do when you come accross a community like this is report it and scrap your friends and ask them to report the community as well... You should also post on all your communitites requesting people to report that community, Orkut cannot delete a community until 50 members report that community... Its upto us to ensure that these communitites are reported to make Orkut a better place for all of us... There was a similar community which i had come across against India, i got members to report that community and Orkut got it deleted....

yes i agree, orkut must filter such bad communities out. There is alot of trash on orkut. Not just racial abuse but also adult material which is really disgusting..

hey main thing...that makes orkut not so famous are these illigeal communities.....well the orkut owners should put restrictions on these ....people may come forward and report them as bogus ...but its the owners who should take look into this matter...as it is seraious issue..... hey have seen u on orkut ...nice pic

Any community invloved in display of such disparaging pictures of any such country must be reported. Such community must be deleted and all members of that community must be banned from registering again.

The problem is a lack of systematic moderation @ orkut and also very loose guidelines about what is allowed and not. If you do find a community that you think is racist etc try reporting it to Orkut and see the response they give.
