Come on people...Use your heads!!!

Mylot is a great place to be! However, here lately I've noticed that we keep seeing the same topics over and over again! What is wrong with people? Come up with your own ideas, quit taking people's ideas, re-wording them, and then posting them when it's something that was just on the "hot topics" page the day before....I can understand you accidently doing so, but some do it constantly! Do you not realize that 9 out of 10 times we aren't going to keep answering the same questions over and over again so if you are doing it because you seen that one person got 277 responses from that topic, it doesn't mean you are going to...it means that 277 people ALREADY ANSWERED THAT QUESTION!! In a place where we can discuss almost anything......Why do we discuss the same things over and over and over again?? You can write about cars, books, tv shows, money, movies, music, children, libraries, shopping, driving, pets, animals, horses, cows, pigs, the weather, snow, rain, ice, school, home improvement projects, family issues, coffee, bikes, toys, parenting, losing a loved one, candy, friends....geesh, ANYTHING.... Anyone else want to give some ideas? Maybe this will help those who can't think of anything and maybe they will quit repeating all the discussions! Am I the only one going crazy looking for something new to respond to?

No, you are not. I have been going to my interests and doing alot there. I seem to find some there. My friends do a pretty good job of keeping me going too. Health, current events are a couple of other ideas.

I usually try to post discussions which I am really interested in or have a question about. Often, I search to see if anyone else has posted anything about it. Then, if my question is not answered, I go ahead and post it. But, it would seem, that not everyone wants to answer the topics I post.

I would honestly say if someone really runs out of idea and still wish to participate, just simply response to topics of your interest. Dig on previous topics without responses and support the topic starter, maybe later you can work together.

See madam Lylot is avery big community with more than 60000 users so it is almost impossible to check all the discussion and then coming up wth an entirely new idea. so it may so hhapepn that same discussion may be started by two ppl but they have neither seen each others discussion before. it is not that ppl are copying others idea.

You are not alone. I have been lamenting over the poor numbers of quality discussions posted recently. If there are good numbers of quality discussions, then it is not a problem for me to respond at least 15 to 20 daily. Unfortunately, pages after pages of posts produce only the same mundane mylot issues. Let's keep encouraging others to bring up new quality posts daily. We can start with ourself first. I am going to make it a point to bring in at least 2 new discussions that are sensible daily. How about you?

I'm already trying to do that, somedays I only do one, but most times I will do two or three. And I'm sure I've asked the same questions as someone else but I use my personal experiences to go from so that's probably what makes the difference!

Its not that people don't have new ideas. The problem is that they are too lazy to search a topic before starting it.In this way a topic is repeated by mistake.I am telling this from my personal experience.

Thanks for such comments, somebody needs to remind such things so that everybody proposes good ideas and creative discussions could be started. Other things which I would mention is any problems in the routine life for which you are not able to find the solution yourself, everytime you can not present the problem itself but good experiences of your life too.

Cut us some slack. Everytime I post, it's a topic from inside my head but upon entering the text for discussion, under "similar posts" i find that people have already posted the same thing. I apologize if it appears that we're plagearising, but honestly, some of us aren't. i swear! lol Incidentally, where is the "hot topic" button, or rather, where do I view the hot topics, so that I can avoid writing the same things over and over again?

I've only been a mylotter for less then a week and I am already sick of seeing the same old questions most days. It is almost as annoying as the people who as quiestions like, "Blue or black ink?", "Hot or cold water", "Do you like breathing?" (Ok, this one is made up - or at least I hope it is...) Personally I haven't started many conversations - I'd rather browse the good discussions then start something pointless or that has been covered a million times before. Maybe the "Search MyLot" form at the top is too hard for some people??!!???

True words. i just dont get it.. i think alot of it spans from people wanting to make the mylot money with little effort..and its not just making discussion.its responding.. I make some nice discussions that take some brain power and that can yeild more than 3 different answers and i get little responses..but yet i see stuff like Do you like the color Blue?? i do! with like 60 plus responses..its sick This is a discussion site folks...not a recycling facility.

lol..that is a good one about the recycling! It is sickening to see the silly questions with all the answers. You know, it has to be mostly answered by the ones that are here 'cheating' the system...sad!

You are going crazy looking for new subject but me I spend my time looking for interesting one, that is to say discussions which correspond to me: I fed up with all topics which deal with children, education, or diet... etc My english is not perfect, at least not enough to carry trough a debate, but I always have like deep, major and intelligent dicussions and it is rather difficult to find that

that's the point. it's so hard to find discussions which interest me, too. i get to scroll from page to page just looking for unique and interesting discussions. but that's life. we can't have it all the way we want it.

i was actually thinking of it.maybe we should start up a mini blog.wre we fpost a topic and ask for articles or ideas on the topic till we can get something as good as an ebook. that way we help people think

for those who can't think of something new, try posting responses to topics already posted in the forum. it will still give you points, right? this is one way to still participate and at the same time, earn a bit. ^_^

Thats what i have been thinking exactly most of the discussions here are stereotyped and boring. lets heed Stephanie5"s advise and get original.

plain'n'simple: people want rewards. you better stick to the ones who want similar things; I'm particularly interested in good topics, besides I'm quite randomic most of the time.
