when are discussions usually started?

i am unable to understand when a discussion is started.....some discussions get slow responses and later it becomes a quality discussion like after a 100-200 days it gets a lot oof responses whereas some discussions kick off very well and get a lot of responses very soon.......we know when the discussion is started before the first response ......but when it is not popular we forget when it started ....so it would be better if mylot also gives the time and date of the starting of the topic near the discussion........so that we could know whether it is a quality topic or not.....what do you think??post your views
