They have medicines for epileptics that suppress the seizures but they're only temporary. I had a classmate of mine who had a seizure and no one knew what to do. It was a scary situation and while she was sitting at her desk, she slipped off her chair and crashed into the rest of the desks. There was this girl sitting next to me cupping her mouth laughing. I wanted to punch her so badly.

I have a few friends that have this. Now it is normal for me to see them have a seizure once and awhile but at first it was scary. But they take medicine to help control them or lower the number they have. As long as they don't hit any objects while having a seizure they are fine

I went to college with a girl who had epilepsy. It use to scare me so much when she would take a seizure because I didn't know what to do for her and I would feel so helpless when this happened. I don't believe there is any permanent cure for it unfortunately, but I could be wrong. I have since lost contact with my college friend so I have no idea how she is doing today.

I have epilepsy but I don't get the grand mal seizures. I get partial complex and simple partial seizures. The partial complex seizures make me feel spaced out and kind of disoriented. Also called petite mal seizures, when a person has partial complex seizures they can continue functioning but they may appear spacey or agitated. The simple partial seizures are sometimes called psychic seizures and they can affect the senses and autonomic function. When I get these I can sometimes see flashes of light, smell scents that no one else can, feel crawling sensations or feel a difference in mood. When I get the autonomic kind, which affect me at night, I can get a racing heart and nausea. These seizures tend to run in cycles and can get worse under stress but for the most part they aren't too bad for me. Epileptics typically take medications to control the seizures and the meds I take are pretty helpful.
