Reception Class Homework

January 30, 2007 11:12am CST
My daughter is 5 and started school in September. She gets reading books to bring home that she can read easily and maths homework once a week that she could do when she was at nursery. She isn't considerably brighter than the rest of the kids in the class so I wonder why they aren't being pushed very hard. Is it normal for reception age children that the parents have to work with the kids at home to get them up to a decent standard or do other classes push the kids harder?

My granddaughter was the same , she was bored at first but don't worry she will be fine as time goes on , she is 12 now and at secondary school and loves it . they push them a bit more when they go further into primary school classes xx
