Has anyone on this board been a content producer for this site? I just submitted 4 articles of mine and am waiting for an offer. I've heard both good and bad things about the site. What I liked about it is not only do you get paid for your articles you submit but also you can create a portfolio of your work.

I submitted a bunch of articles to them and found that it took a while to get the offers, but they did come through. I think that they say you will get a response within 5 business days, but it did take them longer than what they said. I haven't seen the money deposited into my PayPal account yet, but I'm figuring that maybe I have to give them the benefit of the doubt and a few extra days... I have heard from several people that they are legitimate and that they do pay.

I heard the same thing from other people also. Someone on another forum said they could take at least a week to get back to you. The major negative I heard about Associated Content was their Editor's Picks are not the best of writers. They have many grammatical, sentence errors that were obviously done by an amateur. It actually gives me hope! Lol

Took 7 business days for them to get back to me with an offer. They say you get the money in your paypal in a few days, so we'll see...

I've submitted 2 articles and for one I got paid $3, and the other I got paid $8. I think it's a great site, I'm just not much of a writer, so I was happy to get those amounts.

That's really not bad if you consider writing a bunch of articles at once. Even if you're not much of a writer, it's still something good to put on your resume and not only that but you could submit those articles to other sites and perfect it as you go along.

One thing I don't like about AC is that because the pay isn't all that great (often $3 to $8) it encourages people to crank out a lot of articles quickly. Although AC says you need to have good grammar and spelling, I notice plenty of such mistakes in AC articles. So not only are writers submitting work with typos, the content managers are not catching it. I saw one article on volunteer activities in a town and the content was apparently lifted from the charities' Web sites. I could tell because a couple of the blurbs used the first-person tense while others were third-person!

You might also want to try constant-content.com. It pays better but the work has to be better quality than AC, because clients are buying the content, not the Web site itself. I made a comment on it elsewhere in this discussion that includes a link to a really good Mylot discussion about CC. The downside is that articles don't always sell right away, it may take a while for a buyer to appear.

I agree with you that the fact that people are going to try to crank out a lot of articles quickly will decrease the quality of the site, which really is ashame because it will take from the credibility of the site. Yet it is a great opportunity for someone like me who really needs a way to make some cash. ;)

I just received an offer for my first article a few hours ago. $7. I thought that was pretty good especially since I'm a medical student, not a writer! I am not quite sure what the "average" people get is. So far it seems like a great site. Good luck!

Exactly. My only problem is I need to come up with more ideas of what I'm going to write.

That's what I like about mylot also, tictac. This site gives me ideas on what's bugging the general population of internet users and form an article from there.

7 dollars isn't bad at all, especially if you don't write. What makes it great is you can sit at home writing articles which will take you about a half an hour, so on average you're getting paid 10-20 bucks an hour.

I'm a content producer for Associated Content and I like it for the same reasons you do. I like to know that maybe my article can help someone out there if it's that type of article.

I too am an AC content writer. Here is what I know about what is going on. They have been inundated with new articles since the holidays, due to the increased amound of new content producers, plus the old ones. It is now taking approximatly 7-9 days for them to review and decide if your content is acceptable. It is still much faster than most traditional forms of publishing. Don't worry, they will come through. AC is a great site, and I have had nothing but a positive experience with them. Have patience, it will pay off in the end. Let us know when they are accepted, so we can all go read and rate them to help you out.

I use to submit articles in there myself. it's been a good while though. I use to write a lot about singers myself. I enjoyed doing that. I never made a lot of money on there but it was a little bit of side money.

I've written for AC since July 06. I really like them. Pay can vary, but really, the more you write, the more people you bring into your pages and the better your writing becomes, the better offers you will recieve. I love being able to write when I want and what I want. I love being able to bring in some extra money to pay for things and I love how all of my work is displayed on one nice page for everyone to see. It's a wonderful place to write for. The people that bad mouth AC are just unhappy because they aren't recieving what they wish to recieve because they don't write quality articles. Don't listen to them.

Different users have different experiences with AC. It may be wonderful for you, but not for others. To say that anybody who says anything negative about AC doesn't write quality articles just isn't true.

When I say quality articles, I don't say anything about grammatical or spelling errors. I could care less about that. When I say quality, I mean articles that have the keyword density and everything else that AC is looking for to help bring in more and people to their site.

Idlewild is right about that. I've spoken to a few others who were EXCELLENT article writers. Their complaint was that AC accepts just about any article and these professional writers get upset because here they are writing quality material when others who have grammatical errors in their articles are being placed in "The Editor's Picks".

Hey I can't submit articles for pay. However, if you are an honest person I might consider ghost writing for you. I do the writing, you submit the piece, and then send me rewards from the sale. Anyone interested should contact me.

I actually just learned about Associated Content through reading about it here at myLot. I recently registered as a Content Producer and am getting ready to send my first article. It is encouraging to read the experiences others have had here!

I've never heard of AC until someone on myspace contacted me about it. Obviously they wanted a referral bonus and if I help them by helping myself, all power to AC.

I've written for AC on and off again. The good is you can write reviews, articles and how to guides for money. Submitting exclusive gets you a higher bid offer. The bad aspect is if you're a seriosu writer...the pay may offend you. You could write for example a 1000 word article and only be offered $8.00 at AC. At another place you could be offered $50.00 But it's good for those looking to earn some extra pocket change or start to build a portfolio.

byfaith, what website do you write for? I know AC requires a minimum of 400 words per article.

I've never heard of AC until reading this post. I write content articles and get paid average $10 for 500-700 words, got paid $500 for first draft of an ebook and extra coming for rework just finished today.
