Who do you think will end up the Chief of Surgery and Why?

My guess is that the Chief is going to keep his job (what else does he have to do now that his marriage is over?) and will stay chief until Bailey is capable of taking over for him. I don't think any of the Attendings are chief-worthy.

Yeah, unfortunately Bailey can't get it as the Chief alluded to it when he was speaking to her about it. & I do think she needs to grow more, and learn more. I really think, maybe, the Chief isn't going to leave after what happened when he tried to get back with Adelle, or perhaps I'm wrong, and he really will. But if he really is leaving I think that Addison would be the best canidate - to be honest I didn't really think of it before the past episode, but I'm really warming up to the idea. I love Sheppard, but I really wouldn't want to see him as Chief, as I think it may change him too much. Sloan is just an all around horrible candidate from what I've seen of him thus far, and Burke, well, Burke would be obvious, but he is so arrogant.

i wish it was bailey because she would be good at it and chief wants her to be it anyways, but she doesnt have the amount of years to be able to become one. but for the runing candidates i think, well i would like it to be Burke that gets the Chief slot. maybe Addison but i do think if it would be one, Burke will have it. although i have a feeling they might be doctor Haun from the other hospital, if that could be a possibility. who knows, chief might just plan to stay on because his wife wont take him back and all. we can only wait and see, and tonight looks like a good one!

I'm not sure how things work in the medical field, but I don't think that Bailey can get it since she's only a resident and only attendings can go for Chief of surgery but she is the best choice for the job since she really cares about the hospital and her patients more so than the rest. I think the worst choice would be Sloan.

I love Bailey too, but unfortunetly she's not yet qualified to take the position because of the hierarchy so my best guess is they will give the Chief Position to Burke. Weber loves Burke, not only he mentioned it previously in one of the episode but also he already choose Burke to handle the temporary chief position when he had a brain surgery. So experience wise, Burke would be the logical choice.

Among all the attending doctors - Burke, Shepherd, Addison, and Sloan -- I cannot really make a choice because Burke did something that he should not have done as a surgeon and even before the hand tremors, he was a little arrogant and full of himself, its what the chief said before and what made him hire Derek to work at Seattle Grace. Addison is new and doesnt strike me as a good leader and Sloan is a jerk to the people who work under him (interns, etc.) and I think the chief of surgery is someone who should be good in administrative tasks and managing the hospital and should also have a "heart" in dealing with hospital staff and patients. Dr. Bailey seem to have that because beneath that tough exterior, she has a soft heart and a heart that understands (she would excuse the interns from their tasks if they are dealing with something personal) and she believes that there is something more about being a doctor and that there is so much more they/she can do. I just dont know if a senior resident can be considered for the chief of surgery position. But the current chief may stay longer so it may be awhile before they need a new chief. :)
