My husband's aunt is bipolar and when she's on the right dose of meds, she's fine. She's been on them for the better part of thirty years, I'd say. Last year her doc switched things up and she had the wrong dosage. She got in her car and drove to a town she was unfamiliar with and ended up in the parking lot of a shopping center. A store owner found her disoriented and confused and called 911. It's a wonder she didn't kill someone while driving. Her meds have been changed again, but I still don't think they're quite right as she keeps telling me she's getting married in September, but she doesn't have a boyfriend. My advice is to research as much as you can on the subject. Go online or to the library and read about it. It's a complicated disease.
