i think that the most economical way is the wood heating.. here in romania is the cheapest way. if you usolate the room where you burn the woods you don`t have any problems with the health..

I sure wish we had the ability to heat with wood as freely here in the usa ..people in the country can and if you want to in the city; it's a fortune to buy chopped wood;)+

For me, the cheapest way to heat my house is the electric bill since I do not have a fireplace. Electricity is cheaper than gas and oil but that could vary from state to state and the type of home that you are living in. My bills usually run around $80 each month, give or take either way.

I thought on first reading your response Ken that you were going to say you heat the house with your "electric bill" ... I know that people use paper for kindling..Then I read further and saw you must have your electric bill on your mind since that is what your wrote..ha ha..you made me laugh..thanks for sharing and for making me chuckle;)+

The cheapest way is for you to go out,cut up your own wood, and burn it.It is NOT the cleanest though. You have to look at what is available in your area plus what your personal priorities are.Burning wood is cheaper but not good for the enviroment.Propane and gas both give emmisions as well plus they do not have a never-ending supply.Electricity is good but the presure of people using it so much has created blackouts and the need for reclaiming land for dams. Best way to heat the house is put a bed in every room and if you get cold, huddle with your partner for warmth.

I find that gas heat is the best, but that's because it's what I use. Baseboard electric heat, from what i've heard, is the most expensive way of heating. While woodburning is probably one of the cheapest ways to go, I'd have to say that it's the most dangerous, since there is a huge fire risk to the house.

We use kerosene now and we use anywhere from $100-$160 dollars a month. I know it isn't the cheapest way but it is better then what we were using coal and wood which I hated because you had to constantly feed the fire or it went out and someon had to stay up most nights to keep it from going out. Wood cost about $60-$75 a truck load and coal $65-$75 a ton. Don't know how much gas is running in my area yet because my mom just started using it this month and has yet to get a bill yet. my sister inlaws uses electric one uses space heaters and her bill runs usually around $110-$140 a month and the other one has central heat and hers runs up towards $200 or more a month. No matter what we heat with it's going to cost different prices for different people because it depends on their houses/trailer and how well insulated a place is the better insulated the cheaper the cost something is going to be I guess the best thing we could do is get some type of goggle that is can see heat and see how much we are losing out of our houses from doors windows and other places.

Invest in a good solar heat panel. The initial outlay may be a little expensive but no more heating bills.
