Unfortunatly I am totally lactose intolerant and am not supposed to have any thing with lactose in it. Some people arent aware that this can include breads, pastries, dressings, lunch meat and lots more. I was just wondering if anyone knows of any products out there on the market that sell lactose free icecream? not soy though. Ive been using a product call lacteeze and these are tablets you eat with lactose food but dont always work and can be expensive. I have also found a great milk, yoghurt and butter brand thats lactose free called Liddells, but they dont make icecream:(. I know I could probably try making it myself but if you saw my cakes you'd know why Im asking lol. Thankyou

Those are the same here in Australia as the lacteeze tablets and as I said can be expensive if you cannot have any lactose at all, you have to take more tablets and they have a limited effect. Thanks anyway :)

My son was on lactose products for awhile and I had a hard time getting anything but then found out that if you talk to a store owner you can have things ordered in . I am not sure if they make lactose ice cream or not but you could always ask them and then ask them to order some in for you . Sorry , I know this didn't really answer your question but thought maybe I would let you know this in case you didn't know you could do this .

Thanks for that interesting information. I never realized that there was lactose in so many other foods! I believe I am lactose intolerant also. I don't usually suffer from it unless I overdo the dairy products or have it late in the evening.

I've been lactose intolerant since I was eight years old. Thank God! I was lucky to get off of that ghastly stuff back then. It caused so many problems. Lactaid drops don't really work, just stay clear of anything with dairy in it. Save money & your health. There are heaps of dairy-free & soy-free ice-creams on the market now (maybe thanks to our pioneering efforts!). The best ones have the fewest ingredients, like coconut ice-cream has just three & tastes much better than any dairy based ice-cream I've ever eaten. Sorbet & Gelatti are the most popular ones, just watch the sugar content. There are plenty of good recipes out there to make your own dairy-free ice-creams at home too.
