My husband is deploying in a couple days and will be away for the next 6 months. We don't normally celebrate Valentine's Day but I want to ship something out to him that is not mushy but fun and functional. I'm already going to ship 2 guitars out his way but he knows about that. Do you guys have any suggestions for a nice ValDay care package? P.S. - A little background. He doesn't smoke or dip, he already has a laptop that he will bring as a carry-on and an iPod. He's been in for 17 years and is kinda oooold haha. He said he doesn't want anything but I can't NOT get him something lol.

How about music books for the guitars and chocolate , lots of good food. How about a theme basket full of gooodies. I would think an awesome aftershave kit with tons of good things for skincare and all. Hope this helps.

Oh those are great ideas. He loves the complete Dermalogica skin care system and I should get him a care package of that plus some cookies that he enjoys since he's not much of a chocolate fan. I'm not sure I could get him music books because he's into classic rock and he has lots of stuff but I can send him what he leaves here at the house! Wow this did help a bunch. It really means a lot to me because I'm not too creative in this area. tytyty! Pretty pathetic. We've been married for 6 years and I have to ask others for help! haha. :P

I was thinking that the music books would be a great idea too. My friend is in Iraq and he asks for new releases of DVDs. Helps them past time I guess! When my husband (then friend) was in Saudi for a peace keeping mission, he read a lot and he rarely reads now. Most of the care packages I've sent were fairly practical ... chapstick and deodorant! But, I would also send things to pass time, footballs, volleyballs, basketballs (see a theme??) and crosswords, word finds things like that. One of my husbands favorite packages from me included a bunch of He-Man figures ... I lady I worked with had a bunch that her son left at her house and sold them to me for $20. He was mad when he found out his mom has sold them and she actually asked for them back, but what could I do? They were already in Saudi! So maybe something that he enjoyed in his childhood ... a toy he could play with! :)
