If you were an employer and had to choose between 3 candidates for the a job. And one was a graduate from a regular college and one was a graduate from an online college, and the third was a self taught person with years of experience. Which one would you hire? Why would you choose that one over the other two?

The one with experience, any day of the week. When it comes down to it a degree is still just a piece of paper. Experience is priceless.

I completely agree with you. I would hire someone with experience any day of the week. Most people with diplomas and certificates don't have enough real world knowledge to apply what they learned in a work setting right after graduating. The only way I would hire either of the other was if I needed someone for an entry level position. Then I would choose the person who best fit in with the other people in the company.

i will choose the self taught man over the others because in his day to day handling of work he will not go back to books or oline for solutions as he is self taugt man

The one with experience, definately. The school of life provides more education than any classroom.

The experienced person. Nothing can take the place of experience in any field, in my opinion.

I would choose the guy with experience, because he's been through the ringer a few times, I wouldn't necessarily have to train him. The other two are "entry level" material, they have book smarts. Hands on they only have an "idea" of what people might want or what sells. The guy with the experience, he's self taught,w/ life experiences. #3 can teach 1 and 2 how it all really works in the real world!

More than likely the one with experience but on saying that ... I would go for the one with the best personality for the job! No good going for the one with experience if their personality doesn't suit the job they are going for.

They all sound qualifed in one way or another. For me it would now fall to the dynamics in the room during each interview. As an employer I would look for the right fit to build my team. He who has the most personality wins.
