certain requirements must be met if prayers are to be heard. What, then, does God requires for our prayers to be heard?

God does not require anything of us, saint or sinner, God hears our prayers. In a church or in a bar, God hears our prayers. All you need to do is pray - talk to Him, He loves us all and is always with us. You simply must remember that God will answer your prayer, in His time, not yours.

I think God hears all the prayers. But let the god decide which should be fullfilled & which or not.

for us to say them or think them. The power of words helps, but there are no specific rules to prayer. All religions have their own set of doctrine, but Jesus said when asked what to pray,The Lords Prayer. The most important part of the prayer to me is thy will be done,on earth as it is in heaven.when you say give us our daily bread,we aren't asking for physical bread,we are asking for spiritual bread for our souls, everyday feed us with you wisdom. All things in the scripture have meanings in metaphores and the storie we knew growing up have taken on a whole different meaning once your eyes are opened to deeper understandings.I use to say why go to church when they are still telling the same old stories of old,but how wrong am I.Today with teachers like T.D.Jakes teaching on deeper levels I am learning more than I ever thought was possible and my mind is blown away by these understandings.
