I think it'd be hard to get a cheap hotel with the view you're desiring. We stayed at the Elysees Union Hotel last fall and it was moderately priced and located right between the Eiffel Tower and Champs Elysees - some of the rooms did have a view of the Eiffel Tower, even.

I have not agood experience with hotels in Paris. I have also written an opinion in Ciao. Idf they are cheap, the rooms are very small. So you have to be happy with a small room. It is typical of paris to have hotels with small rooms.

I read your discussion when it was 4 months old, so by now perhaps you are home again. How did you like Paris? Could you find a cheap hotel? Tell me its name just in case I decide to travel there in the near future. Last time I visited Paris was in 1986 (!!!)
