From where does the money come from ?

I'm finally starting to understand how do we get paid, what you can do to earn more and more - and it's all nice - but remains one question: From where does this money come from, from what does myLot pays its users? I don't see big comercials on this site, it's a simple and clean site, so I don't have a clue. And something else - let's say, that I have accumulated 10.00 $ and I want to transfer it on an e-gold account. How much will I get in real money - you know - like real cash $$$??? Thanks a lot.
