What is Paganism??

I just want to know some facts about Paganism!! Is Paganism a religon? Does it have a originator or is it just a collection of ideas and experiences of people accumulated over time?? Also why was Paganism virtualy wiped out from the rest of the world while it rules in India in the form of Hinduism?

Muttley said it best (looked to be a very intricate dictionary response). Paganism is an umbrella term for several faiths ranging from Hinduism to Buddhism to Wicca to Druidry and everything in between. Basically everything that is not either Christian, Jewish or Muslim (the three faiths of Abraham) is considered pagan.
