Its sad but when i was younger i worked in a place where they processed rabbits. I needed a job and my first day , they had me washing the meat after it came threw a line. On my break i walked around to see where all these rabbits were coming from.It made me so sick,i saw them take live rabbits out of cages and run them threw a big saw and these poor rabbits got there heads cut off and skined and gutted and came down the line still moving in the hot water and it made me so sick,i quit.

I am not sure if they do now, this has been a few yrs ago. I didnt work there only a couple of weeks, only because i had to. Ialso think this is very wrong, of course i have raised rabbits almost all my life.I dont understand how people can eat rabbit meat. Thanks for answering my article, maybe they dont do this anymore.

Rabbit - A rabbit on the grasses.
And so rabbit's meat are being processed and sold? It's good if they are labelled as rabbit's meat. I don't like to eat rabbit's meat also. There are still so many other food that we may eat. I didn't know that this is also sold in commercial quantities. I heard people catching rats from the fields and eating them but not this kind.

Oh Lord! I'd gag! My ex-grandpa in law (what a mouthful!) used to breed them and eat them. I couldn't do it! They were my pets, for Pete's sake! I couldn't even eat when that was what his grandmother cooked. They tried to tell me it was chicken, but I knew better. It looked and smelled different, even though she cooked it the same way. I gagged. I couldn't deal with it. I can't imagine working at a place like that. I guess I love animals to much and get to attached. Even volunteering at the animal shelter about did me in. I wanted to bring them all home. :( It broke my heart. I donate when I can, but I can't even volunteer at places like that anymore.

OMG...I had no idea that's how they started the processing of rabbits. I thought they at least killed them first b4 cutting their heads off. Thank god I don't eat rabbits from the store. Only eat the wild ones that I've killed myself and had neighbor gut/skin it. I love rabbit meat but I could never eat a pet rabbit and now that I know, will make sure I never eat one bought from a store or served in a restaraunt.
