What if the book and movie Da Vinci Code is real?

The Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vini - According to the book Da Vinci Code the one on the right side of Jesus is Mary Magdalene and the letter M that was forming in the background supposedly represents the sacred feminity of Mary Magdalene and that because there is no chalice in the backgound Mary Magdalene is the one referred to as the grail.

I've read the book Da Vinci Code some time ago and have watched the movie a few weeks ago. A question that always comes into my mind is what if (and that is only what if, so to some please don't get offended) there is indeed truthfullness in it and Jesus does have a wife and that it was kept secret for years? How would you react? Or how will this affect your faith?

as a non christian historian it would have little effect on me but would explain much to do with western religious history. If it were true the Vatican is powerful enough to suppress such knowledge and so very few people would ever become aware of it. Thats the great thing about all conspiricy theories, even if they were true, the powers that be would not allow anyone to know.

yes i too read the book and i liked it very much.If it was stated as real it ofcourse would some people. Its a good interesting story and i liked reading it.I didnt find the movie so great with comparison to the book.It is ofcourse hard to change your beliefs so fast with such books.Just a movie or book cant change your beliefs with just a book if you are a true believer. What do you say about it?

I agree, it wouldnt affect my belief, I only consider it as an interesting story. I also agree that the movie is too short and not explain things very well, I have to read the book to understand what it was really going on!

Well it wouldn't effect what I believe in this world. Although I was raised Catholic I no longer that follow that path. I don't really think it would effect the faith behind Christianity although I'm sure it would effect the religion of it. There is a difference between the two. If it came out that this was true the Chruch could not stand under that sort of scrutiny and many would feel betrayed by it. Personally it wouldn't surprise me if there wasn't some truth to what he wrote. It makes a lot of sense to me. Now I'm not saying it is true I'm just saying if it was I'd be ok with it.
