Why do we have to feel bad when finding out we're "just" a referral?

This question came up because I read someone said here on mylot that after she joined, she finds out that she's just a referral, and she didn't really like it. On some other websites, i also came across people who didn't really like it after finding out they're just a referral. And some people, even after clicking a referral link, they'd remove the referral and open the website without the referral attached to the URL. Are you one of these people? Do you mind if you find out you are a referral to someone else, or you just don't give a damn. And if you are one of these people, what do you have to say about this? Why do you feel that way?

oh i see. How do you find out if you have a referral link and remove it if you want to? Not sure how i feel about it but am sure others will want to know.

I don't know how exactly to find out if you are a referral or not here, because i'm not (er..am i??). Like you, I've also forgotten how did i actually end up on this website. I remember searching for some GPT sites, but hmm...don't know how i ended up here. Referring to your question, once we've signed up using someone's referral link, then we can't remove it anymore. What i was saying is BEFORE someone signed up, he sometimes remove the referral link attached at the end of the url, like http://somesites.com/?referrer=someusername, and by removing "?referrer=someusername", you got only "http://somesites.com/", and you are not a referral when signing up using the latter. This is what i'm talking about.

Yes its a problem also the referrals are generally not active so it does not pay well when u try hard and wait for ur referrals to be active.

To me I dont mine that I am someone else's referal. They pay us a portion of what referals make it doent cost the referal anything. it is a form of networking. and that is what it is all about. Amway is another type of network that has made a lot of people rich. and the only way to join is by referal.

Yeah, spot on. Should we assume people who don't like to be a referral also don't like to refer other people to the website? :?

I dont mind anyway that's the truth. I dont remove the referral link, its my way of helping the person who referred me to that site.
