Why don't I lose weight??

Many people have problems losing weight. I'm not only talking about Obeise people, I mean everybody. I myself find it hard to lose the weight I have gained over the past few years and I'm only 170 lbs. The point I'm trying to get at is quite simple...I just finished reading it in my psychology book. I read in my psychology book "If you eat slowly your brain will have enough time to detect the increase of blood glucose (sugar) and make you feel "full" before you eat more than you need to". That's pretty simple! I guess if you add some exercise to it, you can not only lose the weight, but also become lean! I'm going to try it, what do you think about it?
