do you believe that in certain situations it's ok for some to die for the benefit of the many? i'll set out different examples then you choose the situation that is more interesting for you. a.) a group of people are being experimented by doctors and scientist in a secret laboratory. testing their reactions to some medicines and other form of medications. this is done to find out if the medicines and/or medications will be very helpful for patients suffering such illnesses. however, the group of people are not aware of how harmful the experiments are and are not even aware that they are on an experiment. some of them have died already because of the experiments. b.) a person (it's up to you if you see him as an important individual or random person) -- anyway, this person is being held hostage in a building. the hostage taker demands that a very ruthless powerful man be released from prison and put on a plane to columbia or another country that us has no hold of. if this ruthless man got of prison all hell will break lose because he's know for making nuclear bombs and biological weapons set to terrorize other countries. should they just let the hostage taker kill the hostage and get on with life not worrying that a mad man will make another bomb? c.) a pregnant woman is in a very critical condition.. her heart is weak but she still wants to have a baby.. because she wants to start a family.. but there is a high risk that only one of them could live. if you were the husband and it's almost labor time.. who would you choose to live and why?

These are really tough situations. In these cases, you do not really have much of a choice. It's like we are damned whatever action we take. We just have to choose one and live off with the burden on our shoulders. That makes life interesting. We don't get to have easy decisions all of the time. "Saving one means not being able to save another." What irony.

I like this answer because it holds more truth. This has been happening in our world today. In order to get something we must know how to sacrifice. Although this does not apply at all times. But when we are given such situations in life.. we are only humans we can't make every bit go along our way. We just have to do the best that we can.

In the case of one only it is harder than when we consider we have a world of outside help it makes it easier to make the right decision.

In example a), I think there's a law penalizing such acts. People should not be deceived and those who do such acts should be punished. There should be sacrifice such as this because the same can be done with other experiments such as guinea pigs, not people. Example b) - Police operatives and/or other law enforcers can do something not to kill the hostage taker but to be taken alive and not releasing that powerful ruthless man in prison. Example c) - it's still a high risk. Doctors can save them both. Doctors are very good already. There's none to be sacrifices in these three examples. The real sacrificial lamb is the Lord Jesus Christ because there's not other way but for Him to die on the cross to take away the sin of the world.

yes you are right. there shouldn't be anyone that should be sacrificed. however, in what is happening to the world there is always someone who is sacrificed.

In the case of a high risk pregnancy the mother makes the choice if I was the husband I would support her wishes. I dont give hostage takers/terrorists what they desire if I can avoid it. I expose wrong doing if I know it exists

that's nice to know. do you agree that somehow there will still be someone that you have to choose between 2 choices right?
