I will wait for 2-3 years before I change my OS to Windows Vista.

Do you already changed your OS to Windows Vista? I heard it has a very nice graphics but the problem is, I will not be able to use my old printer, my other computer accessories because they are not compatible with Vista. Only up to XP, some computer games won't run too. And I also have to buy a new PC so that I can enjoy Vista. Vista might be better for "tomorrow", but not "today".

My and hubby was just talking about this yesterday and how all the other Microsoft OS, will soon be obsolete. This makes me a bit upset. We are going to hold out as long as possible, for the reason you have given, it will cost us a fortune right now to find accessories to be compatible. Hopefully we will just have to update drivers if we wait long enough and not have to replace the hardware.

Yup, but is it possible that there will be downloadable software upgrade for free just for PC accessories like HP, Epson, Canon, etc., I hope so...

I agree. I didn't even think about compatibility issues before, but you've definitely put me off of wanting to change to Vista anytime soon now that I've read this and thought about it more *laugh* I really am not the type to enjoy major changes, anyway. I like XP and have been using it for a long time now, so it'll be difficult to get me to change to a new operating system. I probably won't use Vista unless/until we buy a new computer that already has it installed. Goodness knows, my family had Windown 98 for years and years before we finally got a computer that had XP in it! *laugh*

yes I think you're right, I also will do as you do, maybe I will use vista for the next 1 or 2 years (not 3 years maybe), for right now better I look for the other that use that OS, are they satisfied enough, see their complain, and also wait my hardware to be fast enough to be works with vista, anyway I'm still comfortable enough with my xp sp 1.

The most I'd wait is about a year before I bolt to Vista. VIsta is really visually appealing, but it has lots of incompatibilities with most hardware and software. I'll stick with WindowsXP. =) But if I see that Vista improves in less than a year in terms of compatibility, I may not wait a full year. =)

Maybe you have a point there but I'm not really into high-tech stuffs, so 2-3 years is my set time frame before I change my OS, for now I'll stick with XP.

I will also wait for a period before i use windows vista, it seems not so stable currently and still has some security problem. Now the XP professional version is just good for me, so i don't plan to change it currently.

Well seeing as I am still living in the dark ages with Win98 SE. I would still like to try out winXP first. But really don't have the money to be constantly upgrading my computer. *sigh* oh well maybe one day.

I most probably stick to XP. In India people who are using pirated copy of XP are thinking that due to new Vista price of XP will get reduce, so they are planning to buy original XP.
