So What Are You Up To This Valentine's Day?

Last year was a bummer. I bought my wife a new pair of diamond earrings which cost me around 2k. In my excitement, I phoned her and told her what I did. Her reaction? A loud shriek of dismay that included a good tongue lashing with words like, "Are you crazy? I don't need those! You must be out of your mind! Take them back, right now! Buy something for the girls (she meant our daughters). And come home this instant!" What can I say? My wife is a practical person. I'm not saying that she hates buying stuffs for herself though, because she does buy them every now and then. But I don't want a repeat performance of that fiasco for this coming Valentine's Day. So what should I do? I have these options.... Option I - Finish her "Honey To Do List" We recently moved to our current house and I still haven't put up the new storm door nor had I finished painting our daughters' bedrooms. She's been nagging me about these projects, even waking me up early every weekends just to get things done. But I'm a working man, you see. I come home late every day and the only time I could really rest is on weekends. If I finish this before Valentine's, I'm sure she would be happy. Option II - Buy Her The Covetted GE Stainless Steel Dishwasher For our kitchen, she talked me into buying stainless steel appliances - a new GE refrigerator, electric range and over the top microwave oven. I don't know why, but I never got around to buying her the dishwasher. She wants it, but I balked. If I get her this one, she'll swoon with happiness, I bet. Option III - Another special surprise to freak her out? I don't know what that would be. I'm hoping if you, dear readers, could give me some suggestions. I sure am open to it.
