When I was still in high school, I got to meet Paul Young. THAT was something! Here I was this high school girl, who did skip the afternoon to wait in line and bring her backstage pass that she got from another show LOL! I was really lucky! I had seen him maybe two or three times before and I had taken a picture of him but this camera of mine screwed up and it looked like he was singing a duet with himself LOL! I had blown it up to an 8x10 size and got him to sign it for me. I will never forget that day! Here I am standing in the arena where they had set up and was looking around for Paul, the opening band had walked in but no Paul Young. All of a sudden I hear in a real British accent "like my new 'aircut?" I turn around and there he is standing on the stage! OMG! I had brought a whole bunch of pictures of him with me to get them autographed for my friends back at school. Anyway, as I'm walking up to the stage, shaking like a leaf I might add, I said hello to him and asked him if he could sign my pictures. Well, I pull out that "duet" one and he seemed really impressed by it. He autographed it "my first duet" LOL! I had him sign some smaller pictures and he ended up asking me if the ones he had signed was enough and I was counting quickly in my head of all my friends I had promised these autographed pictures to and then said "yes, it's alright". I tried to go back later on with my pass I had and they ended up confiscating it! Oh well, that was fine, I did get to talk to him for a little bit even though it was short:o) So, has anyone else met someone famous and did you have a good experience with it or was it bad?

I met the band Bon Jovi in the early 90's. I was in a local band. We had quite a few fans that would come and hang out at our practices. This one girl had tickets to Bon Jovi and she asked me to go. We went to the concert and just as it ended a band roadie came up and said the band has asked me to give you complimentary back stage passes. Well, it was exciting. We went back stage and the guys came in one at a time. Got to shake hands with them and take pictures. Tico the drummer was talking my ear off. They then invited us to go to the after party. We got to run out the back doors with them to their van and there were girls screaming their heads off. I sat between Ritchie and Tico. We went to Lime light club Downtown Chicago to the V.I.P. area. It was surreal. I was asking these guys questions about touring and making albums because I was trying to break in the business. One of them smiled at me and said that's not why your here pretty girl. I cannot say what else I saw at the after party, but I can say that I ran like the wind down a hall way to get away from one of them that was chasing me because he wanted to...make me feel good...EW and Yuck. I got to a phone, called my boyfriend to come and get me because the other girl disappeared on me and I wanted to go home. At least I got away unharmed. It was cool and scary.

I'm glad to hear you made it out ok! Kind of egotistical of them to just expect that you'll do whatever they want! Really scary! I forgot to mention that I had met Ace Frehely from Kiss when he went out on his own. I brought his album and he signed it as well as the rest of his band. That was cool! Thankfully Ace was a bit more respectful and didn't expect us to go up with him to his room. We had met him in front of his hotel actually but then again it was two in the morning so I think he really wanted to just go to bed LOL! He was older at that time so I think he was at the point where he'd partied enough! LOL! I also met Cheap Trick it was very quick but they were cool. I still have the backstage pass from it too. Those were the days! I don't think I could chase tour busses anymore though LOL!

I remember Paul Young...whatever happened to him, anyway? We were able to meet Chris Isaak about ten years ago. That was alot of fun. My daughter was a big fan of his, and we went to a couple of his concerts, and she got to hang with him for a little while. He was such a nice person, a real gentleman. Also, she was friends with the folk singer Greg Brown for awhile. That's about it for us.

Well I was lukcy to meet Johnny Cash once. He was at the airport when we were and I got to say hi and to get his autograph. I also was able to meet a few others due to concerts where they waited afterwards to do autographs and those were The Bellemy Brothers, Charlie Pride, and Maureen McGovern. It was great to meet them all. It was fantastic.
