A friend of us talk too much but we all find it bit uncomfortable of his bad smell from mouth. He used to brush every day and washes his mouth after he had food. We now told him to wash with hot water with salt. Any other suggestions please

Snacking on raw vegetables like celery and carrot helps to prevent bad breath.Chlorophyll is a natural mouth freshner and is found in leafy green vegetables.Baking soda also reduces bad breath.

Interesting. I know baking soda is somewhat abrasive (that's why it is good for cleaning and it's added to toothpaste) so you have to be careful with it. How would the baking soda be used in this case?

My dear friend, Halitosis(bad breath) has various causative factors.First ask your friend wether he is cleaning his tongue or not?Tongue cleaning is as important as tooth brushing and flossing.Ask wether he is having a carious tooth? If all these things are ok suggest him to go to a physician,as many medical related conditions can cause halitosis, especially sinusitis, usage of various medications, digestive problems e.t.c......... hope this might be useful.

Regular toilet habit, flossing, brushing after eating, cleaning the tongue, and gurgling with good mouth wash will help.

I suggest to consult a dentist. Then the dentist would tell him what to do.

Even a friend of mine was having the same problem. He started using mouth fresher and then that smell was completely reduced. Ask you friend to use Happydent or Orbit coz it will last for more hours. I also suggest your friend to consult a dentist for this problem.

He may have Halitosis, or some other health condition, suggest he see his dentist or his doctor, as his teeth and gums may need attention.

You might want to try suggesting jala neti or nasal irrigation, but i suggest you let him ask his doctor about it first before trying it. It's best to be on the safe side of things.... read more about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nasal_irrigation and here: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/nasal-lavage/MM00552 i've done my research on it as i'm kinda having a slight nose trouble of some sort...Haha. Gotta get that appointment with a doctor.... *sigh* ^_^
