how are the ratings in mylot given?

hai friends can you plese tell me how sre the ratings in mylot given. i cannot understand the rating system. i am new to my lot and i cant understand about the rating system. are the ratings given by seeing the meaning of the sentence that they have written or by another way. so please tell me.i hope that you people can solve my problem
