Pencil lead is made of graphite. Drawing pencils are specially designed for drawing, as opposed to the writing pencils that are in common use. Graphite drawing pencils are made with graphite, which is also called black lead or plumbago, mixed with clay. Let us first know about pencil. Pencil:- A narrow, generally cylindrical implement for writing, drawing, or marking, consisting of a thin rod of graphite, colored wax, or similar substance encased in wood or held in a mechanical holder. Pencil lead is made of graphite.
