Personally, I love anything with Nigella Lawson or Alton Brown. The Iron Chef is my favorite show. Even though I'm a vegetarian, I find even their meat creations fascinating. I like Paula Deen because she reminds me of a Southern version of my Grandma. I'm not a big fan of Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay, or the new Hungry Detective show. Those I could live without, but probably wouldn't change the channel just because their on. What are your favorite Food Network Shows?

I love Alton Brown! I can't stand Rachael Ray and I will change the channel if she is on. She's horribly annoying and her recipes are not healthy (even the ones she says are) and disgusting.

I agree! The other day she was making something and touting it "health food", but it contained ground beef and tons of fat. I wonder what health text book she abides by- if I ate her "health food" I would weigh 300 lbs! Isn't Alton awesome? Even when he does prepare something unhealthy, he at least explains it away well enough to make it still seem like "good eats". I love him!

What? You mean a pound of beef, a pound of cheese and a cup of salt isn't healthy?! nooo Alton can make even foods I don't like seem good...like last night's salmon! Thats a good chef! Thanks for the best response!

Yes, I'm an Emeril fan, but don't like the other two. Alton and Nigella are more my taste.

I am a Rachel Ray addict! I also love Ace of Cakes, Good Eats, Paula's Home Cooking, Malto Mario, Unwrapped, and Guy's Big Bite (if I am awake Sunday morning)

Interesting. Those are mostly the shows I do not like, with exception of Good Eats, Paula Dean, and Unwrapped. I'm not a big fan of Duff or Guy- I don't mind their cooking, but their personalities could use some work.

I like Nigella too. She's just not on often enough. I also like to watch Barefoot Contessa and sometimes Unwrapped and Paula Deen. Paula's funny and entertaining but I probably wouldn't make any of her recipes...they're so unhealthy.

Agreed! I am a fat-phobe, but watching Paula Dean deep fry breaded-butter balls the other day was entertaining nonetheless. Nigella used to be on the Style Network much more frequently. I am sad that her shows aren't on as often anymore, but I read her cookbooks in the meantime to keep myself entertained. She writes as she speaks so they are pretty amusing.

I'm not a Rachael Ray fan either. I do love Mario Batalli, and Alton Brown. I love watching Iron Chef. In fact some of my friends and I will be doing our own Iron Chef battle in the summer.

Fabulous! What a good idea- I don't like to cook, otherwise I would want to do one myself. Isn't it ironic how much I love talking about food and food shows, but how little I like preparing things myself? Ha!

The shows where they make everything out of sugar and the cake compititions

Those sugar art shows are pretty amazing- they make it look so easy. I would love to learn how to make those cakes myself.

Rachel Ray - Favorite Food Network show.
My girlfriend and I enjoy the food network. Her more than me but we both like Rachel Ray. She can be a bit annoying at times but we both like her. We even have some of her cookbooks.

i'm not really an RR fan- many people are though. I could see the appeal, but I like the more sophisticated chefs better. Even though I don't really attempt anything they do, I find their handiwork amazing

Nigella Lawson? never heard of her but i haven't seen the food network in about 7 months cause i'm in italy now. Alton Brown is cool, he gives you some reasons why things do what they do when you cook them. I like paula deen and bobby flay too, even though he's a bit pompous seeming. rachel ray is awful. Mario Batali is my favorite food network chef. I also enjoy the japanese iron chef because what those guys do in an hour is amazing.

You'll love Nigella judging by your other tastes- she is enchanting. Her books make for a good read as well- many anecdotal tales and notes that will coax you to make the recipes even if you're not much of a chef.

I really like Good Eats with Alton Brown. I find the science behind cooking really intriguing. I also like Rachael Ray shows because of her high energy. My other favorites include Unwrapped, where they show how all kinds of foods are made, and Iron Chef.

Sweet Dreams is the show for me since i love eating cakes and pastries and I would really love to bake someday, when we get a stove with a nice oven in it. Baking has always been one of my frustrations, and im not ready to give up on it yet! i want to be able to bake my baby's first birthday cake or even make my own wedding cake- if in case i do get married... someday that is. =)
